Ford Raptor vs Ram Runner! - Head 2 Head Episode 14

Thanks to Throwback to get a tactically evaluated by land, totally epic thread go in one direction, it was intended to go.
Tactical don t get me started on all that is green with beige or MOLLE is called, I guess the whole world is a tactical operator these days.
For those who have served, we have all seen these guys.

My personal definitions yours may be different terrain 4Wheeling driving in an area that requires 4WD or UTV ATV motorcycle also includes bad roads such as your average 2WD couldn t make any length of time corresponds to the definition 30 seconds a ditch during a turn between states on a journey of epic month through term life outback camping in primitive conditions My personal definition requires that most luxury tent is allowed 2 pieces, either on the ground or on the roof, built on the back of your truck, or a bed in a teardrop trailer bonus points for sleeping in a hammock or on the open ground IMO dragging a mobile home with kitchen, toilet and shower behind you or in the case of my parents driving your class mobile home does not count as camping However, such expressions as the camp house e t they do exist, and my brother is sleeping in a camping 4 beds with all facilities each has its own car camping camping while carrying your equipment in a vehicle or pulled behind a general trailer driving on paved roads and stopping for the night at the camp the camp is usually a field developed commercial public campsite, but that is not necessary road-trip long-distance travel by car, usually on paved roads Must be an excursion to would spend a day or a gradual and must be different sleeping position every day or not may include car-camping.

Overlanding is the combination of all the above traveling long distance on roads or trails or fields requiring a 4WD vehicle Straddle where you bring all supplies with you not a park-and-ride, like a journey Moab where you leave your gear in a permanent base camp for trips traveling with all food water speed as you move, setting up another camp each night almost impossible to do in the United States of 'because all sections off-road are generally short and disconnected, but completely possible in the United States from the west.
Forgot expedition seems to be popular today too.

Well at least we all HASHED we in now when someone asks about the Overland suspension, we can create a link to this thread and let them see how things tend to go when we are debating how best set a password.
After doing research on my own upgrade suspension for God knows how long, here are some good questions preemptive for anyone seeking suspension tips with their 4Runner, regardless of the type of construction, are underway to , which helps to correct and direct response to our extensive knowledge of all we will probably charge not need to know.

- What is your primary off-road driving surface field report how much time do you spend on off-road.
- What is your typical plot style when the speed baja Off-road, rock crawling, forest road exploration, etc.
- Your truck loaded weight varies empty You fulltime loaded or unloaded after each trip to SD.
- Do you have a variable amount of people in your platform with you when you travel It will be the effect of weight loaded If so, what is your MAX weight with all inclusive.

- What are your weight loaded and unloaded actual specifically weigh your rear axles before a certified scale rating the weight should not include items that are on the long-term part of your building as they will have a negative effect on the They suspended you build should reflect the short-term or current construction.
- Do you have specific needs or desires with your build will change your suspension needs directly I have to adapt 35s; I have tow 5k books; I must be low enough to fit in my parking garage; I want the kind of position X.
- Do you maintain your suspension system by yourself, and do you know how different suspension systems require different service intervals and requirements.
- Do you like tinkering with adjustments on the rebound from the compression of Conduct firmness or do you set it and forget it if you have to watch the compression rebound, put yourself in the second category, you save much.
- Are you ok with squeaks, creaks, rattles and clunks in your suspension system.
I'm sure there might be other questions, but these are the main I feel are relevant to the construction of a suspension system that best suit the needs of the driver.

I think a lot of people come here with the idea that they want an overland style suspension because they have the idea that it just means a suspension designed to transport equipment to and from any distance to the mostly due to influences such as social media and watch as Overland Expedition and while that might be true, there are many definitions of overlanding who may apply, and they all have their different suspension configurations favorite example being someone who spends a week by blasting Death Valley, covering hundreds of miles inland washboards compared to someone who visit alpine lakes for a long weekend when rock crawling and high clearance is required, it is for the same purpose; out and I honestly don t care what it's labeled, it is just for fun.
So perhaps we can take some of these questions and format the copy paste where if someone comes to forum need information about them regardless of the configuration of suspension, it can actually get information needed to help Because lets face we all know more about this stuff than is likely in any healthy way.
Look, there is a simple designation train defines the mission.
If you want to take the kids and the dog in the 4Runner with a tent, sleeping bags, insect repellent, fishing rods and a food cooler and go four wheels until you have to stop and camp for the night is called to be a loser and no one wants to see your smiling faces in your Facebook photos.

If you want to adjust your Tepui RTT put microbreweries in your ARB fridge, roll up a line of synthetic winch costs, and go four-wheeling until you have to stop and camp for the night a little more the crest of the stupid family with children who called overlanding EXPEDITION and you have a lot of Instagram like when you post your HDR photos of your lights glowing rock under your rig next to your campfire.
