It is hard not to be impressed by the Honda Accord when NHTSA revised their test in 2010, several years Honda was the only car to get a perfect score in all categories off the bat then when IIHS announced the first batch of cars in the new small overlap test in August, the number of years Acura TL essentially an also agreement and the new Volvo S60 were the two cars only to receive a good mark and now the 2013 Agreement is at the top of the same nice test, despite the test being announced one month before the 2013 Agreement is on sale in September.
It's hard not to leave the impression that if Toyota engineers their cars for safety testing, Honda engineers for their safety cars, period.

EuroNCAP, Toyota Yaris and Avensis were a bit better scores than Fit and Accord so they did in 2003 vs Agreement Avensis So I do not think it's that simple.

Toyota does well and often better than the others in the tests that are already known to them, but my point here is that when the testing standards are revised without prior knowledge of manufacturers, it's when their true colors show .
I'm sure Toyota will respond with an almost perfect score again as the way the 2012 Camry has five stars in the NHTSA test revised in the next update of their cars, but this impression will have a lasting impact on their image and defined may be their IMHO sales.

I do not think it makes a big difference of meaning in these tests is hit a few inches to the side.
They talked about this morning on CNN's video of the accident was bad, I crumpled the driver's door surprised that Toyota didnt catch this Camry is their bread and butter strange model.

I'm not sure why it's hard to see my point Toyota engineers their cars to make good enough in existing tests, while Honda on engineering their forecast scenarios in cars are not covered by current tests The 2012 Camry was a good rating in the moderate overlap test, but when the impact point moves to the side a few inches, it falls apart, the Prius v more.
It's like an exam where the teacher tells students exactly what the issues are in the pre-test document, some students will do well by memorizing the answer to each question very, while some will do well by actually studying and understanding course materials, and then when the teacher surprises everyone by changing some of the test questions, it will continue to do well while the first will probably fail the test.
I'm not sure why it's hard to see my point Toyota engineers their cars to do well enough in the existing tests, while Honda forecast scenarios in their cars on engineers are not covered by current tests.
You base this on a test as I said in Europe, Toyota was better in tests So Hows Honda over-engineering their cars if Toyota gets better results Think Honda performs worse on current tests so they can do better in future or something silly as that.

I was basing this on 3 trials as I mentioned above thing is that if Toyota Honda improves in tests that are already known, Honda is not far behind, certainly not to the point of no test results Toyota are simply much more radically incompatible between tests that are known and tests that aren t expected.
