How much it costs to travel to Japan

Japan Travel: preparation of the trip to Japan!

This is the breakdown of how it works on an average daily basis.
We found our Kyoto housesit by the spirit My House Japan housesits don t come very often, but this was a great opportunity to get to know the city and save a lot of money of Kyoto was an excellent place to rest it there is so much to do there and around, and it's not as hectic as Tokyo.
We mostly cooked for ourselves aren supermarkets t cheap, especially for fruit and cheese, but there are some good deals like fresh noodles for 50p We ate about five times, always at lunch when it was less expensive we ate in a few restaurants quite expensive though.
Transportation included metro and bus around Kyoto and some train travel more in Nara and Kibune.
The entertainment was almost all the temple entrance fees that are often about 500 yen US 6 50 well there are plenty of free too.

Other covers various items like postcards and toiletries.
Expenses 30 47 per day for two people in Kyoto is a good deal and we are so glad we found the housesit If you were to add the cost of accommodation, but were able to prepare meals as much as we did the budget would rise about 95,149 a day for two people based on a stay in a suite double room 8000 yen in a hostel.
Hop on and off trains throughout Japan with a Japan Rail Pass.
This is when things start to get expensive and better reflect the cost of travel to Japan.

We bought each a whopping 368 234 or Japan Rail Pass 7 days for 28,300 yen This will save a lot if you want to ride the trains of balls you do, they are impressive It is not much more than a return trip Tokyo to Kyoto would cost.
additional travel costs were the metro and local trains, especially in Tokyo, and trains to and from the airport we took a taxi after our trip to Osaka Koya-san was not included our rail pass, it is for rail Japan that has been added.
comfortable seats, legroom, taken from silent running on a bullet train.
We spent the week with a pass rail on a whirlwind tour of the country, followed by a week in Tokyo We were in a double room in the business hotels and inns, and traditional rooms more expensive in a temple and traditional ryokan inn Our ryokan was at the end of the budget spectrum but costs 17430 yen 226,144 it is the most we've ever paid for a place to stay, but it includes a gourmet breakfast with several dishes and dinner and it is worth projections for the experience.
We ate most meals, except for a few we cooked in Tokyo As vegetarians, we can not always eat the cheap noodle places where you can eat for 500 yen June 50 We found a budget meal was usually around 1,000 yen each 13 drinks can really add up, even coffee and soft drinks a coffee break for two could cost 900 yen 12 we tried to avoid it, but in the middle of a typhoon which we sometimes need a retreat .

Our entertainment budget is mainly composed of Two-day tickets to Disney Tokyo to 10,200 yen 132 each and it was worth seeing the Japanese unique twist on Disney and we really liked the more adult-oriented park DisneySea We spent 12 hours right there it was good value.
Our apartment was subsidized in Tokyo, adding the total cost of the apartment for our budget would take our total daily budget while traveling up to 256 162 per day for two people Ouch.
If you can find a way to get free accommodation by housesitting or couchsurfing will save you lots of money.
For large cities use sites like best prices in the business hotels, it can be cheaper than a hostel.
See our guide to accommodation options in Japan to know what type of accommodation is cheaper and is best for you.

Prepare your meals as much as you can and eat in cheap noodle places, often near train stations Do not forget to splurge now and again though and enjoy the amazing Japanese cuisine.
Alcohol is expensive If you drink beer purchase in a store or distributor convenience instead of bars.
Just stick to tap water and tea with meals soft drinks are very expensive in more restaurants, we drank the vending machines or convenience stores.
Don t s advanced It should not here and can even hurt.
Get a Japan Rail Pass is expensive but worth as the only affordable way to mount the ball super efficient, fast and comfortable trains The Forks street have a breakdown if a train goes to Japan saves you money.

Walk as much as possible to save the Metro local bus fare Don t even think of taking a taxi.
I recommend usually travel slowly to save money, but because of the cost of the pass railway and Japan hosting is not really the ideal place to relax if you're on a budget.
Undeniably, Japan is expensive, but for us it was worth it.

I spent 2 weeks traveling in Japan when my boyfriend worked there for one summer and I'm really surprised at how affordable it was I was expecting prices similar to European capital cities, but it is is far less than we found, especially for food, I think our most expensive meal was 70 and that included a lot of drink.
I spent a lot of time researching hotels for the best price, we had 6 nights near Shinjuku Station to 300 350 but spent a night from our own private bathroom ryokan most incredible view Mount Fuji if you can afford it I recommend it? to do so.

The cost of railpass was probably our biggest expense that we got 2 week passes, but they can be used on local trains in Tokyo not the metro and good for trips to places like Nara, Kobe and Miyajima go here if you are in Hiroshima again, the local travel pass, an act ICOCA PASSMO as Oyster cards you charge, but they can be used on most public transport in all cities that we had our ICOCA in Osaka and it walked everywhere from Tokyo to Hiroshima the only exception is buses in Kyoto.
We were not not try to travel on a budget as it was an incredible experience, but we spent a lot less than what I budgeted.
Also a tip if you want to stop in small places for the night we did in Nara, Miyajima and Fuji is ahead on your luggage at the hotel next door, it costs about 15 two suitcases per trip we have sent their Osaka to Kyoto when we went to Nara and Kyoto to Tokyo when we went to Fuji, it made travel on the trains much easier.
Sarah thank you for advice, I think the cost is relative If you come from the UK or Australia in Japan is a good value, but South Asia, It seems expensive We think it's worth and can not wait to return.
