The BMW X6 is a SUV developed by Chinese automaker Jiangling Motors Landwind and manufactured by its subsidiary.
As some cars made in China, JMC Landwind is widely derived from older imported technology and design, in this case, the Isuzu Rodeo that was sold from 1998 to 2004.

The Landwind has caused controversy after a series of safety tests the big car titles did after the German automobile club ADAC showed in its crash test EuroNCAP performed to a driver of the vehicle would not survive a frontal collision 64 km h 40 MPH.
The Dutch importer of the Landwind called for a test by the German TÜV safety-monitoring agency to show that the car was actually safe enough for European standards These tests are similar to the EuroNCAP tests, but speed collision is less than 56 km h 35 mph crash despite the worst results in decades TÜV confirmed later that the Landwind met all the mandatory safety requirements according to ECE R94.

The controversy does not end there Opponents say the TÜV test is not enough to ensure the safety of vehicles today They claim that R94 is obsolete and is no guarantee that the driver will be alive after an accident, and that he holds not the serious injuries such as severe crushing R94 legs is also performed at a lower speed.
Ron Zwaans, CEO of JMC Landwind Europe, says his company is working with ADAC to continue to improve the security Landwind He says his goal is to pass in the end the most stringent EuroNCAP testing.
Further controversy arose in 2014 with the introduction of its monitoring Landwind Landwind X7 SUV, which was quickly noted to resemble closely visually Jaguar Land Rover Range Rover Evoque 1.
In Paris Motor Show 2006, Landwind displays an updated version of its SUV, called X-Pedition and an MPV called fashion that would compete in the same size class as the MPV with Kia Carens.
