Maruti Suzuki Swift Datsun Go Fail NCAP crash tests

These six Indian cars international safety test miserably

Maruti Suzuki Swift Thread Datsun Go Fail NCAP crash tests.
Maruti Suzuki Swift Datsun Go Fail NCAP crash tests.
The popular Maruti Suzuki Swift and Datsun Go failed last series of Indian crash tests conducted by Global NCAP.
Go is an entry model, which competes with Alto800 and Hyundai Eon Maruti Suzuki, while the Swift is positioned as more premium tailgate.
Swift received a zero star rating in the frontal crash test pm Two 64 kilometers the car variants were tested - a Maruti exported by Latin America and another that sells as the basic variant here in India.

regulation of Latin American markets means that the basic version of the car too airbags ABS, while in India, nor standard.
The test protocol mandates of Global NCAP that all cars, including basic variants must have at least airbags and ABS for certification; and so on that the only number Swift Indian model failed the test even before the accident happened.
The analysis of the accident showed the crash test dummies, having suffered almost fatal injuries, more in the case of the driver was also considered unstable structural integrity of the car.
And this is essential, given the fact in Europe, Swift has a more solid structure and obtained a certification from the accident 5 stars from Euro NCAP.
The Latin American export Swift received a rating of 3 stars, mainly because of the presence of ABS airbags, which means fewer injuries to dummies for crash tests, but structurally this car performed similarly to the other Swift.
But it is not only to add inflatable cushions or ABS, as the crash test Datsun Go shows the shell of the car's body disintegrated severely for the same kind of test.

Of course, the lack of airbags compounded potential injuries The driver and passenger dummies sustained fatal injuries to the head, torso and legs.

So if you buy a car budget for any reason, you are concerned about security.
I think it is shameful on the part of manufacturers, really people who buy cans, as they are counted probably don t among the brightest pebbles on the beach, but they spend money on a product brand, and they'll have an expectation to be protected to some extent stupid is as stupid does well, I guess.

Look at the car costs and components If you want to save on production to sell a vehicle, the more expensive items are safety devices, unfortunately, if people want a cheaper car drivable, they have to compromise the security that is unfortunately the way it is I Don t agree with it, but that is it.
I signed with Bitco and it is by far the best internet I have never had a quote.

It does not have to be like that but they should stop doing those stupid profits.

It's a pretty disgusting approach, applying cost-benefit analysis at the expense of safety But I suppose the particular market also shares the blame- they'd never get away with this in Europe or the United States.

It is, but at least there are some manufacturers moving towards a more humanitarian approach Indian variants built VW Polo sedan that didn t have mounted air bags - and thus also failed initially - were removed from the line, and therefore marked with 4 of 5 stars If they had of ESP in series they've marked on May 5.
I realize two floors on these little boxes of the Polo, but I do not know how the powers that some of these manufacturers are sleeping at night.

In 2014 2015 vehicle without at least an airbag and driver passenger ABS at least should be forbidden to be imported manufactured and sold in South Africa.

Even basic transportation vehicles, such as the ubiquitous VW CitiGolf were finally offered here in South Africa with the driver's side air bag before being replaced by the Polo Vivo has two mounted airbags serial.
With all the advances in the design of the vehicle around the world since then, it is totally incomprehensible that manufacturers still produce models without these basic security features implemented.
For example, the Datsun GO has no ABS or airbags - not in the specifications of the model, and even el cheapo-adjustable seat belts manually mounted on the back as another cost-cutting measure as is sees in the Indian spec models.
The consequences of this, and the use of body panels and thinner metal compared to European models from Japanese equivalent, can clearly be seen in the earlier crash test videos of the Indian source models such as the Ford Figo Hyundai 110, Suzuki Alto, Tata Nano VW Polo.
World NCAP chose the entry level version of each model, as no results have been equipped with air bags.

Max Mosley, President of Global NCAP, said, India is now a global market and production center for small cars, so it is worrying to see the security levels that are 20 years behind the five star standards now common Europe and North America.
He continued by saying that the poor structural integrity and the absence of air cushions put the lives of Indian consumers at risk.
In the Suzuki-Maruti Alto 800, the Tata Nano and the Hyundai i10, vehicle structures proved inadequate and have collapsed in varying degrees, which causes high risk of fatal injuries to occupants.
The magnitude of the structural weaknesses in these models were such as air bags installation would not be effective to reduce the risk of serious injury.
The Ford Figo and Volkswagen Polo have structures that have remained stable - and therefore with mounted air bags, protection for the driver and front passenger would be much improved.

Coinciding with the World NCAP tests, Volkswagen decided to remove the bag non-air version of the Polo sales in India.
Because of this, Global NCAP agreed to a VW request to evaluate a version of the Polo with two airbags as standard from now.
