In this paper we study the reliability of American and Japanese cars by comparing the trend of the emergence of problems in the production years American Car Brands selected in this study are Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Jeep and Lincoln selected the Japanese brands are Acura, Honda, Infiniti, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Suzuki and Toyota 1 shows the total number of problems reported for cars built from 1996 to 2013 for the US and Japanese brands.
