The British car journalist well known presenter Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear said the cost of making a car in Korea and Japan of course is never less than the cost of its manufacture in Europe or the United States still the Korean and Japanese cars are cheaper and more reliable and the most amazing thing to me is how Korean cars moved from their bad reputation in 2002 March 04 as shoddy cars without reliability to be top of the list report to the consumption of the most reliable cars in 2011.
My question is why American European car manufacturers are lagging behind Asian manufacturers, despite the fact that the American European car industry preceded the Asian nearly a century.
I thought many times and established some reasons that have led Asian manufacturers Ahead of their Western rivals such reasons as farms protectionist measures imposed by their governments to limit foreign competition with local manufacturers such measures give a great advantage to take their time to develop their cars and test them on their local domestic market, no matter how the car is bad in their primary stages of development or because their peoples n have no other choice, but their cars in the US European car markets open locally made gift manufacturers t get such an advantage.
Another reason could be for example exchange rate Korean won is about 30 aganist undervalued US dollar and the car in overseas, become 30 artificially cheaper than their real price leading to success and pushing local policymakers in the other abyss, a foreign car in Korea will be 30 artificially more expensive - it is enough to keep foreigners away from markers Korean market and let kia hyundai dominate the market and control their products before invading other countries.
What do you guys think, I would like to know your opinion bigthumb.

I agree with your point that I would also say that US automakers had got lazy because they thought that there wasn t any competition until it is too late and demanded a bailout.
